Funding Available for Septic System Upgrades in Florida

Florida Homeowners located in the Indian River Lagoon BMAP are required to upgrade septic systems by 2030 to comply with HB1379. Funding to help homeowners is available in select counties throughout the state.

Here's a summary of some of the Florida counties providing funding to homeowners to help with septic system upgrades. 

Brevard County

Brevard County is providing grants of up to $18,000 for eligible homeowners to upgrade their conventional septic system to an advanced septic system. Eligibility amounts are based on a property’s estimated pollution to the groundwater through its septic drainfield.

Citrus County

Citrus County’s Upgrade Incentive Program provides up to $7,000 in reimbursements to eligible homeowners. Those eligible will receive their grants on a first-approved pre-application basis.

Volusia County

Volusia County has been approved by the Florida Department of Health to provide property owners with rebates of up to $10,000 for upgrading their septic system. Eligibility is based on location and property size.
